What Qualifications do I need to become a Twirlees™ franchisee?

No special education or prior experience in the industry is required for an individual to be considered as a candidate for a Twirlees™ franchise. We look for individuals who are highly motivated, personable, outgoing, have a positive attitude and understand that success comes from hard work and dedication. Of course, a successful candidate must also meet the minimum financial criteria required to fund and to open the franchise.

You should be prepared and willing to perform all sales, production, and management functions required to operate your franchise on a daily basis. The personal demands of operating the business can be minimized by your ability to attract, motivate and retain quality employees. However, we strongly believe that the personal involvement of the franchisee in the management of the business has a significant and positive impact on the sales levels and net profitability of the business.

Is it difficult to operate a Twirlees Franchise?

Operating a Twirlees™ franchise requires the franchisee to wear many hats at one time. In your store you are the chef, merchandiser, salesperson, purchaser, manager, accountant and janitor (to name a few!) You must be willing and able to perform all of these duties well. However, if you follow the operating systems and procedures along with the training that we provide - with a little practice and patience you will quickly become proficient at performing the tasks required to successfully run your business.

How much does a Twirlees™ franchise cost?

The total cost of a Twirlees™ franchise ranges between $80 000-$90 000 (Including the franchise fee). Your total initial investment consists of the franchise fee, pre-fabricated kiosk, and the equipment package. Other operating expenses may be incurred prior to opening, including: opening inventory, rent deposits, electrical/water hook up & supplies, These numbers do not include the 5% royalty fee & 1.5% marketing fee to be paid to Twirlees Canada quarterly.

Does Twirlees™ provide any financing?

Twirlees™ does not currently offer direct financing to its franchisees, Prospective franchisees must be able to demonstrate the ability to obtain adequate financing required to open and operate the business. However, a substantial portion of the costs associated with starting the franchise is eligible for financing under the Small Business Administration (U.S.A) and the Business Investment Loan (Canada) programs. In addition, equipment may also be leased through third party leasing programs, provided the applicant has the required credit and financial qualifications.

Where do I purchase the supplies required to operate the business?

Franchisees may only purchase approved supplies from approved suppliers that meet our rigid requirements. The company has historically been successful in negotiating volume discounts for its franchisees on most supplies and ingredients as a result of large volume purchases through the franchise system. Some items are proprietary to the Twirlees™ system and therefore must be purchased from Twirlees™. However, we ensure that our mix is competitively priced.

Can you guarantee that I can make a lot of money?

As mentioned earlier, a number of factors determine profitability, so the quick answer to this question is no. Of course, we will make every effort to ensure that you have the tools to succeed - but this is not a get rich quick scheme. All business ventures involve some element of risk, however we firmly believe that the strength of our concept, and operating system will help reduce these risks and enhance your chance of success. Like everything else in life, much of anyone’s success depends upon hard work - as every successful entrepreneur knows, is something for which there is no substitute.

What if my area of interest is currently unavailable?

Due to the production time of the kiosks certain areas will be developed before others, depending on site selection. Your completed application will be kept on file for one year and we will do our best to notify you when a market opportunity becomes available in your area.

Where can I review your Uniform Franchise Offering Circular (UFOC) ?

All candidates selected to continue on with the process will be provided with the UFOC upon receiving the completed final application.
